Capital Reman At Work - Busy Busy

Every day a lot of work gets done here at Capital Reman Exchange. Our current backlog is 27 diesel engines currently in production or slated for production. Each department is busy every day but we strive to keep organized, keep clean and keep on track. We live and die by the Quality of the work we do here. In fact our company motto is : Quality, Customer, Company.Above all, the quality of work comes before anything else we do. Next is to deliver top notch customer service. We are nothing without our customers. The last priority is the needs of the company. We will always do our best to deliver diesel engines and parts that work as described. We know our customers count on these engines to get back on the road or to finish that mining or paving project. Money, time and people's livelihoods are on the line and we know that first hand. We take our job here very seriously. Our goal as an AERA Engine Rebuild Facility is to be as efficient as possible while never cutting corners. The Environmental Protection Agency was created in the footsteps of the Clean Air Act of 1970. For 46 years the EPA has been constantly evolving and enacting laws to address the environmental needs of this country. For many years owners of three-quarter and one-ton light duty pickup trucks enjoyed no additional smog equipment on their vehicles. All of that changed in 2008 with the EPA required the use of diesel particulate filters on all three-quarter-ton and larger trucks as well as required biannual smog tests which included a visual inspection of the vehicle to make sure the DPF parts were still on the truck. Common Causes of Engine Misfires

Automotive misfires are a whole different animal than with diesel engines. Diesel engines ignite the fuel through compression where as automotive gas engines use a spark from an ignition system. With automotive misfires an ignition system is the first place to start looking for the misfire. The next appropriate steps to diagnose the problem include inspection of the ignition cables, spark plugs, distributor cap/rotor components and the ignition coil. The spark generated for ignition oftentimes will not be properly transferred as those components mentioned above wear significantly over time. The inability to ignite the air/fuel mixture in the combustion chambers will result in the engine not being able to turn over. ... read more »

Cummins recently introduced a new natural gas engine that produces a near zero amount of emissions.
